Gladiator Manager allows players to strategically manage a team of gladiators in ancient Rome. As a manager, you oversee the team’s training, statistics, and tournament participation in the Colosseum with the goal of making your house or “faction” the greatest on earth. Players can achieve dominance by purchasing and upgrading vital stats for their team of gladiators. These include the characteristics of strength, speed, endurance and weaponry, which determine the effectiveness of the gladiator in battle. Managing and improving these stats is a central function of the game and determines each character’s combat stats. The gladiators you start with start out with weak stats, but can gradually be upgraded to powerful fighters as you grow in influence and prosperity.

Winning battles also allows you to gain more gold, which opens up the possibility of further stat increases and new weapon/armor upgrades to strengthen your faction among others. So the key is to improve your team’s vital attributes and manage those gains. Similar to the gladiator trade in ancient Rome itself, players can trade and buy warriors from other factions. This allows you to create your own team based on your preferences and fighting style. Gladiators of exceptional ability can be sold at a premium, and the proceeds can be used to improve the remaining team. Those who fall behind in battles can be sold to shed dead weight. Conversely, you can find and buy gladiators with good skills from your opponents, so you can then train in your own way.

This trading system allows each player to strategically tailor their lineup. The core gameplay revolves around battling rival factions in organized tournaments. As your warriors prove themselves, your team advances to larger, higher-stakes competitions and receives more rewards and glory. Victory brings gold and recognition, while defeat means costly losses and a blow to your house’s reputation. So participate wisely based on your team’s preparation. To weaken opponents, you can also undermine them with “reverse” moves (as discussed later). But in a bloody battle where weapons and fists collide, ultimate dominance will go to the manager whose tactics and upgrades make his fighters the most powerful.
